25th Regular Assembly of the Union of BiH Associations Skillingaryd, March 5, 2016.
Ambassador Vesna Ćužić attended the jubilee 25th Annual Assembly of the Union of BiH Associations in Sweden that took place on March 5, 2016. in Skillingaryd’s hall “Skillingehus”.
The work of the Assembly was attended by 46 delegates from 21 associations that are members of the Union and by the members of the Central Committee of the Union. Among the guests who attended the Assembly were representative of the NBV’s Stefan Lahall, president of the Bosnian-Swedish association of women Almedina Sacic, President of “Merhamet” in Sweden Fehim Halilovic, a representative of the insurance company “Folksam” Merdana Ramezić, and several representatives of district organizations operating within the Union.
Ambassador Ćužić congratulated the Union of BiH Associations in Sweden on 25 years of existence and work, pointing out how much effort, commitment and, above all, love should be put into an association to have it actively working for 25 years. Ambassador Ćužić stressed the importance of the Union’s work in preservation of the culture, tradition and language as well as keeping in touch with their homeland.
According to Azra Jelacic, President of the Union in 2015 there was a total of 48 registered associations with 8,664 members who were active within the Union.
After the adoption of Agenda and Working Protocol of Twenty-fifth Assembly, the report on the work for the past year was presented along with an interesting video about the activities of the Union in 2015.
After the voting for the members of the Central Committee of the Union, the voting for President took place. Azra Jelacic was re-elected and after four years at the head of the Union she will continue to serve as president, this time in a technical mandate.
The Host of the Assembly was Association “Bosnia” from Skillingaryd.
